Farewell to the Hummers

Fall is here in the Southern United States. The weather is trying to decide whether it wants to be cool, hot or stormy. It’s typical for this time of year. Frankly, my vote is for the cooler weather. We’ll see what Mother Nature has in store for us.

Sadly, though, Fall and October mean it’s time for the hummingbirds to begin their migration to the tropics. We had a ton of activity at the feeder a few weeks ago, but sadly there hasn’t been any this past week. Oh well, I guess it’s time to pack the feeder away and wait for their arrival next year. Until then, here are a few images from their last visits to the feeder.

“A hummingbird darts lightly through the world, spreading its message of joy and beauty, and teaching us to appreciate the wonder and magic of everyday existence. ” ~unknown

I sure am going to miss these cute, little garden fairies. I hope they make it safely to their destination.

Until next time,

~donna
