Here’s to the last of the Mosaic colors of Fall.

“Surround yourself with people who reflect who you want to be and how you want to feel. Energies are contagious.”
Who are you surrounding yourself with? Do they inspire you? Do they support you? Do they bring you positive energy?

Fall peaked in Atlanta this past weekend and it was truly spectacular! Everywhere we drove the trees were in full color! Reds, yellows and greens bursting in all their glory. It has been a few years since I have seen such abundance of colors. Perhaps it was the extra rainy summer we had, or maybe Mother Nature just decided to give us a show. For whatever reason, I couldn’t resist stepping out into our backyard and snapping a few photos of the bicycle and birdbaths before the leaves were blown away.
Mid-morning, shooting slightly into the sun! I don’t usually like lens flares, but these just seemed to give the bicycle a little extra personality. What do you think?
One of these is not like the other, can you guess which one? A snapshot looking downward into the birdbath with the leaves floating in the water.
A different perspective of the bicycle. Don’t you just love the baskets full of leaves?
3 birds chatting over some fallen leaves in the birdbath.
That’s a LOT of leaves! I hate to tell him that the wind blew more leaves all over the yard just after he left!
As you can probably tell by the last photo, we have a couple more weeks of leaves falling so I’m hoping to snap a few more photos before they all disappear. How are the Fall colors in your part of the world? I’d love to see your colors!
Until next time, Happy Fall!

“The miracle is not that we do this work, but that we are happy to do it!” ~Mother Teresa
Another great quote by Mother Teresa for the upcoming season of giving. Have you found the miracle of being happy when giving or serving others?

September 21st is “World Gratitude Day” and its history dates back to 1965 in Hawaii when an international gathering decided that it would be a good idea to have one day per year to formally express gratitude and appreciation for the many wonderful things to be found in the world. Following the meeting in Hawaii, many attendees marked Gratitude Day on 21st September 1966.
Today, I’m grateful for the beauty of the change of seasons. What are you grateful for today?

💐 Today marks the beginning of “National Thinking of You Week” and I can’t think of a better way to let someone know they are being thought of than by sending them a personal, handwritten note!
In a world full of instant text messages and e-mails there are so many benefits to writing a personal note:
📝You’ll brighten someone’s day – It’s such a special feeling to open the mailbox and find an unexpected note from a friend or loved one. When someone takes the time to pick out the right card, write out a personal message, stamp and address an envelope and then drop it in the mail, it demonstrates to the receiver they are important, appreciated and cared about.
📝It’s good for your own health – There are a couple of ways it’s good for your health. First, the act of writing is a therapeutic and calming stress reducer. Another positive health benefit is the act of doing good for others.
📝 You create a lasting memory – Notes are permanent keepsakes (and a piece of history) from loved ones long after they are gone. So what are you waiting for?
Go ahead and grab that pen and paper and get started today! And, of course if you need to stock up on some “Thinking of You” or other unique greeting cards and photography gifts then pop on over to my Etsy shop by following or copying this link in your browser👉👉 https://www.etsy.com/shop/donnarobinsonphoto
Well folks, this concludes my “30 Days of Hummingbirds” photography challenge. I hope you have enjoyed this journey as much as I have enjoyed the challenge of capturing these beautiful little creatures.
So what did I learn? Take a look:
It’s ok to push the ISO during the “blue hour” in order to gain light while maintaining a fast shutter speed;
The faster the shutter speed (and higher ISO) the more detail you’ll get;
Patience and quickness go hand in hand when photographing hummingbirds;
A trip to South America to visit the Hummingbird preserves is now on my Photography Bucket List!
There are a lot of great professional hummingbird photographers out there. If you’re on Instagram below are a couple that I follow:
